 77 Chev Nova, 450hp, 357ci, TH350, 4.56, caged, slicks, fuel system, Cal-Tracs, etc. Low-11 second e.t.s, FUN, FAST, CONSISTANT!!
CHASSIS: 1977 Chev Nova hatchback. Maroon/Charcoal paint scheme w/scoop & cold air package, Lexan windows, Recaro racing bucket, 8-point padded rollcage, large racing tachometer, water temp and oil pressure gauges. Interior stripped and finished w/splatter and carpet in the front half of the car. Battery & fuel cell mounted and contained in rear w/battery shut-off. Raced regularly at Rock Falls Raceway; passes all inspections. B&M Pro-Stick shifter, disc brakes w/skinny drag tires up front on Centerline rims, 29.5 x 9 slicks on rear on Centerline rims. Slicks only used one season. Complete fuel system w/5 gallon foam filled cell, Holley self-regulating electric pump, filter/water separator, all ½ aluminum & steel braided lines front to rear. Tunable Cal-Trak bars w/tri-leaf springs, Summit 3-way adjustable drag shocks on all four corners.
TRANNY / REAR END: TH350 professionally rebuilt in 2005. Only 6 passes on the transmission. New pump, hardened sprag, extra clutch packs and manual/automatic valve body. Torque converter is also freshly rebuilt, 10 B&M race converter w/4000 shall, dual line-locks, driveshaft has been completely rebuilt and balanced. Chevy 12-bolt rear-end with C-clip eliminators, Moser axles, full spool, and fresh 4:56 gears in 2005.
ENGINE: 6 passes on 357ci small block Chev (.040-over 350) that was freshened in 2005 (rings, bearings, etc.) 13.50:1 compression, indexed & chamfered steel crank, Manley forged pistons, Chet Herbert H-beam 6 rods (Carrillo copies), high-volume oil pump, 8 quart oil system, windage tray, new balancer and SFI approved flexplate. Block professionally machined, align-honed, bores honed w/deck plate. Pocket ported, gasket matched and polished Dartll Sportsman cast iron heads w/undercut 1-pc stainless steel valves, Teflon seals, bronze guides, 7/16 studs, Harland Sharp extruded aluminum roller-rockers. Custom ground 300/305 Schneider solid-lifter race cam, Wiend Team-G intake manifold, valley pan, 750 Holley carb, Thermo-wrapped Hedman headers, high torque race starter, Moroso aluminum water pump and electric drive, Aluminum radiator. Full MSD ignition system including recurved MSD billet distributor, MSD 6AL ignition w/2-step and rev limiter.
Performance: Engine dyno-tuned at Applied Dyno Specialties in Eagan, MN.
Torque: 422 lb. Ft. from 4400-5000 rpm and Horsepower: 451hp from 6100-6300 rpm. Car is very consistent w/60ft. generally in the 1.50 1.55 with a best of 1.46. Car has run a best of 11.17 @119mph. Car launches hard; front wheels will lift 4 or better off the starting line either foot braking or using the 2-step and lineloc,
